About Wave Noodle

dscf8953.jpgdscf8957.jpgdscf8958.jpgAt first glance you may not expect too much from this local gem but once you try the food you’ll never think twice again. Wave noodle is rumored to have the best Chinese and noodle dishes in the area. With a heavy Thai influence this popular spot serves up anything from the traditional General Tso’s to green curry or pad thai.

They are also open for delivery… and open late. So when the mood strikes you can fight back with some really, really yummy grub.

WC Dish recommends: The summer rolls, salt and pepper calamari, crispy beef, chicken pad thai and pineapple fried rice. Not all at once of course.

  • I was surprised to find restaurant ownership has changed and along with it the quality of the food is not the same. My favorite dish Singapore is no longer the same flavor and the deep dish chicken soup does not come with the same white tender chicken and the chinese cabbage is not as green and the soup does not taste as before. I will give it one more try and if that difference in taste continues, I will go elsewhere.
I miss conversation with Rachel and her two young children.

  • Wave Noodle has changed their menu i.e. new owners again. We really miss the original owners but were able to find a few things that were ok. Not great just ok. My friend and I stopped in for lunch today. The hostess was very rude to us. She pointed to a table and said “You sit there”. For real! Then we noticed there was no heat on in the building. It was freezing. I looked at the menu and knew it had changed hands again. Huge menu and nothing to order. In a nut shell it was the worst food and service I have ever had. We had to ask for the soup after our meal came, then it was so bad we couldn’t eat it. Both of us left most of our food on the plate. I’ll never go back!

  • Just tried the “new wave”. Very disappointed in the food. How can you mess up seasame chicken? Obviously they’ve figured it out!! We have been customers of Wave Noodle for many years and have never been disatisfied in the least, in fact we’ve been known to miles out of our way just to enjoy their cuisine. Needless to say, this is the first time and last time we will eat there again.

I really wish I knew where the old cuisine went. By the way, the soda was 2 weeks out of code.

We ordered there the other night even after being told about the “ownership change. The food was inedible. We usually get a delicious shrimp and scallop curry dish over noodles, but were told they no longer had it due to a “new menu”. The lo mein was soggy, the spring rolls that used to be crispy and delicous were now just your average mall-style egg roll. So disappointed. Wave Noodles food was always fresh, delicious and surprisingly different from every other place. I have no idea where to get my chinese food now. Does anyone know what happened to the Wave Noodle owners?

  • Very very disappointed. Have been eating here for about 5 years now and always get the red curry or green curry chicken, coconut soup, and banana rolls. Just called to order lunch today and was told they “changed the menu” because they no longer have the coconut soup or banana rolls. Hmmm, should have known something was fishy right off the bat. They did not however tell me that they no longer had the red curry chicken so I proceeded with my order. Upon the arrival I discover they instead gave me yellow curry chicken? Seriously? Like I wouldn’t know the difference? I called to tell them they screwed up my order and was told by the person who answered the phone that I did get the “red curry chicken” but they are just making in differently now. Bahahahahahahaha! This place is a joke. I got dumplings as well since they did not have my coconut soup anymore and they were disgusting. Full of weird gristle and the soy sauce tasted like water. Needless to say, I will never be ordering from here again, and I threw out the menu they gave me. (Which by the way – doesn’t have red curry chicken anywhere on it.)

  • So I went to Wave Noodle the other day without knowing that there was a change of ownership. I decided to give it a try anyway and ordered the green curry chicken and fried dumplings since they said their dumplings were amazing. It wasn’t a lie, the dumplings were really good. You can tell that it was a work of art.
The green curry chicken was also surprisingly good.
I use to go Wave Noodle at least once a week and was pretty shocked when I was tolded that there was a change of ownership. But in the end, I think the new management was pretty good and definitely worth a try. Oh yeah, I’m eating their dumplings right now so I though I would write a review about the new management.

  • I feel like a huge part of me has died.
Wave Noodle has been the most amazing restaurant of ever… Most delicious food… so good, that I could literally POINT to the menu randomly to chose my meal, and it’d be incredible.
But the new management is absolutely terrible. My favorite dish, the Pad Thai, is now not edible. My girlfriend’s favorite, the broth with Mei Fun noodles, also disgusting. I’m afraid to try anything else. The best restaurant of EVER has turned into yet another crappy Chinese joint, complete with tacky red paint up front. I’m gonna go cry again at this loss.

To end on a happy note, thank you to the original owners for many years of absolutely INCREDIBLE food. I, and many others, will sorely miss you.

  • Best Chinese food in West Chester. Malaysian curry chicken is better than Saigon Grill in NYC. Hope to see you soon.

  • Did Wave Noodle close? We have been trying to get take out there for a few days for lunch – no answer?

Where did you go Wave Noodle?? You have the BEST Chinese food in West Chester! I hope you return to us because I would be lost without you!!

  • We love Wave Noodle – our favorites are the pad thai, orange flavor beef, and the curries. Nothing is fancy, but it’s solidly good every time. One of the few places we don’t get bored of eating at again and again.

  • I love Wave Noodle! I think of it as my personal favorite place to eat at when I am alone. I can order miso soup, hot tea and some pad thai, read a book and hide away for a while. It is a great place to duck into when it is cold and rainy outside.

  • They are still open. I just had some take out the other night. The food was terrific as usual!

  • Closing 3/31/2010 and they don't know if the will re-open somewhere else. I am so bummed, it was the best freshest food. Good luck and thanks,

I've been getting food from here for years and really, it's the best Chinese / Asian Fusion good in the greater WC area by far (I've tried them all). The veges are always fresh, the portions are quite big, and the service is always good. As an aside, they deliver very quickly and the lunch/dinner specials are a great deal and a huge amount of food.

Try the shrimp tempura, the currys, the all-white meat General Tsos, and the soups.

  • I am interested by the comments about Wave Noodle because, ironically, I agree with them all, the good and the bad.

One of the reasons I first visited Wave was because they served Vietnamese Pho, which is arguably the best dish ever created. Still, I prefer the Pho at Noodi in Media, which allows you to eat a three-course meal of absolute bliss for next to nothing. If you've never been, you are missing out on a gem!

That said, I have had both good and bad results from my eat-in and take-out experiences at Wave. I do agree that if you are looking for Asian cuisine in the WC, you are already in the dog house, so you might as well start here.

  • food was ok not that great. the salt and pepper squid was great but the salt and pepper shrimp was tasteless. saigon noodles were soggy. pork chop serving was huge.

  • I have been going here for awhile. Its a pretty nice place to eat. Its a little more expensive then your run of the mill chinese restaurant but the food is of much better quality. Its nice to have a wide selection between regular chinese, thai, and other foods.

There is also parking behind the building not many people realize that.

  • Pretty typical Thai/Chinese/Asian menu choices, but well prepared and tasty. Was there recently following a disappointing buffet lunch at India Garden the week before, and thought it was a much better rendition of "Asian" food than India Garden's buffet is on "Indian" food. Good value for lunch.

Parking lot in the back is convenient, too.

  • Mmm I LOVE Wave Noodle. I get their Chicken Pad Thai which is incredible–even in Thai restaurants I still walk away preferring Wave Noodle's. I actually ask for it spicy which adds a delicious kick, and they are very accomodating with the requests. I moved to Exton this past year and will still drive into West Chester just to get dinner at Wave Noodle!

  • Wave is the best Chinese spot in West Chester. That's not saying much, considering there is no good Chinese restaurant in West Chester proper.

  • I wouldn't say "Chinese" but defiantly the best asian food in WC.

Everything you would need to fill the hunger of a family who is craving Asian. Where else can you get top notch Miso Soup, Steamed Dumplings, Pad Tai, Ginger Chicken, and Mussels..

Delivery is incredible. They say 40 min, and they are there in 10 min. The food is warm, and fresh. The Restaurant itself is not much to look at, but it is charming and family friendly. Once you sit down, the service is good, friendly, and prompt.

  • def my favorite chinese restaurant in the area! definately somewhere to try!

  • Food is so/so. Kinda overpriced. Very salty. Check out No.#1 instead.

  • Admittedly, it doesn't look like much on the outside. There are no golden dragons or fancy zen gardens that you'll find at some Asian restaurants. I'd driven by it hundreds of times and never even gave it a thought, until I read some of the reviews here.

When I finally tried it, I was happily impressed. I had the Shrimp Pad Thai, and it was as good as I've had it at some of the finer Thai restaurants.

Parking's doesn't seem that convenient, but you can always park in the complex across the street.

Do yourself a favor: Check out Wave Noodle!

  • Wave Noodle a great place for Chinese/Thai food! They have the best pad thai around and for less than $7.00 you can have leftovers for the next day – their portion sizes are pretty generous!! Eating in or taking out – we have always had a great experience there!

  • The food is terrific. I have been looking for a good Chinese restaurant in the area for a while now. I also love Thai food, but didn't think there were any places around that served it. Wave noodle is great. The prices are VERY reasonable and the staff is polite. The delivery service is quick too!

  • Wave Noodle is simple the only place in WC worth getting chinese food from. The sauces are so good! My favs are Chicken w/ Broccoli (sp?), General Tso's, and Salt and Pepper shrimp. The staff there is great also.
