About DK Diner

A West Chester staple and a perfect spot for an early morning breakfast with the paper.  They also serve a great spread of diner lunch dishes. This classic train-car style diner has friendly staff and a good cuppa’ joe.

WC Dish Recommends:  Any egg dish and the pancakes.

  • Excited to try the food but had to wait quite awhile. Food was just ok, not that impressed.

  • First and last time at DK. My 10-year old can serve a better breakfast. Cooked but cold hash browns. Biscuit that must have served as a puck at the Winter Classic. At least he got the eggs right. 1 out of 3 ain’t bad.

  • It's a diner, with everything that implies. As my friend accurately summed it up, diners are as authentically and uniquely American as the pub or fish-and-chip shop is to the UK.

First of all, one of the things DK has going for it is that it looks like a diner should. It's not like some places that call themselves diners but long ago ditched any pretense of the classic diner look.

Second of all, DK serves good comfort food, as any diner should. Nothing fancy, but everything fast, tasty and unpretentious.

Third, the service is personal, the drink refills keep coming and there's a local feel and sense of community.

There's not much to add: If you expect the diner experience, DK delivers. You won't be disappointed.

  • This has become our regular Saturday morning breakfast spot. With two very young kids, the service is friendly, the food arrives quickly, the portions are generous, and the food is good. The bacon is crispy and eggs done as requested. Although the kids always want to go to "the diner", occasionally we do venture into town to some of the other breakfast spots, but "the diner" is a spot we can count on getting in and out quickly with our bellies full of good food.

  • A real diner, which is an increasingly rare thing. My only complaint is that it closes too early. They ought to keep it open for dinner.

  • The only "true" diner in WC. We used to go all the time, and many people still do (as seen by the lines in the morning). I prefer Penn's table these days (walking distance), but if you are getting in the car DK is the place to go. DK still holds a place in my heart.

  • This was my favorite breakfast place growing up. It's still fun to visit every now and again!

  • For me, as a European,to eat breakfast at the DK Diner it is like to be in a classic American movie

Smiling waitress pouring coffee at your table… poached eggs…crispy bacon…home made pancakes with syrup…
In Italy I cannot get this…

The DK Diner is clean and friendly, it is busy but efficient , and I think it is very much worth the few dollars for this classic American breakfast and experience.

And looking the queue of people waiting to eat there on Sunday morning, I suppose I’m not the only one who think this.
