Dolci, Gelato & Espresso Bar

SPRAZZO (it means bursting with pleasure) is a unique Dolci, Gelato & Espresso Bar now open in downtown West Chester at the corner of High & Gay Streets.

The specialty of the house is handcrafted Italian & American Ice Cream and Sorbetto. As part of the SPRAZZO experience, one can watch as the ice-creamologist creates freshness and flavors in a flash right before your eyes.

SPRAZZO is owned and operated by the Fagnani family, residents of Chester County for over 30 years.

Three years ago, dreams of opening a Fagnani family business materialized, and 32 degrees desserts opened in Wayne. It was a charming little place tucked away on Aberdeen Avenue with a wonderful reputation and a loyal following. 32 degrees consistently won several awards for its ice cream and gelato.

Suddenly, in early 2005, a wonderful opportunity spontaneously presented itself. In a flash, the Fagnani family was able to burst out of hiding with the help of their Zio Gregorio (Uncle Greg). As a result, 32 degrees was able to expand and grow and is now a bigger and better place known as SPRAZZO, a cozy gathering place.

At SPRAZZO, people of all ages can meet and enjoy small pleasures. These delicious homemade comfort foods are served hot or cold.

FOR AT-HOME CELEBRATIONS

Bob Fagnani, the expert ice-creamologist custom makes and decorates gelato and ice cream cakes as well as his signature frozen desserts¦ frozen cannoli, ice cream bruschetta, and sorbetto swirls just to name a few. FOR IN-STORE CELEBRATIONS

  1. Good, but way over priced.

  2. Very cute and quaint seating.
Relaxed, but has a comfy and cozy atmosphere.
The gourmet peanut butter hot chocolate was fabulous. It has a great flavor, that is not too overwhelming.

  3. Love this place. Staff is fabulous. You can't go wrong!

  4. This is a cute little place – I didn't realize there was a whole dining room in there… thanks for the root beer float, Mary! Did somebody say frozen cannoli?? …I'll be back.

  5. Great place to mingle… coffee is the best and the icecream is out of this world, stop by to cool down during the hot season

  6. [...] Our next stop was Sprazzo, which translates from Italian into bursting with pleasure, which I think I actually did! Also located on Gay Street, Sprazzo offers Italian-style ice cream, desserts and coffee. The selection is overwhelmingly fantastic and the youthful staff is happy to help you make your choice. Their homemade treats range from gelato to ice cream and sorbetto and they are happy to give samples. The gelato is supposedly lower in fat, but it’s so delicious you would never guess it. The mud pie sundae I ordered was so heavenly I almost cried. With upstairs and downstairs indoor seating and outdoor cafe tables it’s a perfect spot to sit and enjoy your frozen treat with a date, friends or family. Visit Sprazzo’s Website to view a schedule of their upstairs entertainment, including psychic readings or to view their menu. (You can also bring your laptop along and take advantage of their wireless Internet.) The coffee and gourmet hot cocoa are just as amazing as their ice cream for enjoyment in the cold months. Gelato is the best since we went to Italy! Looked and tasted and this is the best we have found in PA. The Spumoni was fantastic!!

  10. Delicious! Very expensive though – my friend nearly fell over when she got to the cash register and learned her 1-scoop on a cone cost her over $4…

  11. I love their capucinno glasses. This is a nice place to go for dessert and coffee after dinner at the Iron Hill Brewery.

  12. Way to overpriced, prices change too depending on who serves you. One night it took me 20 minutes just to get a smoothie. There are much better coffee places in town!

  13. There was a big staff change over the summer – looks like they might need some help. Calling all qualified barista’s – offer your services!

  14. Slightly overpriced but essentially a good coffee place.

I highly recommend the gourmet hot chocolates. Nothing tastes better on a cold day.

  17. Amazing Spiced Chai Tea Lattes (best I've ever had when made properly! Like liquid ginger bread), but they need to be a bit more efficient and consistent if they are going to survive with the Industry Standard (Sbux) going in across the street.

  18. This place is amazing! I don't think people realize everything in Sprazzo is homemade. I see there are a few people stating that Sprazzo is over priced, once again, people who are not in the business do not realize the cost of goods in the industry these days. A gallon of milk cost more than a gallon of gas, the cost of all dairy, flower & baking goods are all over the news. Sprazzo is not just a coffee shop or ice cream place it's a great cafe! The food is great the service is great too. Every food industry business goes through service issues from time to time, it's the nature of the business, you do your best with what you get to work with. I wonder how the big boys across the streets service is going to be in the months to come? I have been in food & beverage for 35 years & Sprazzo is doing great job! Sprazzo is a really cool cafe, it's different, owned & operated by local Chester County residents. It may not carry the name of the national across the street, but it's run by local folks & pound for pound there is no contest! SPRAZZO RULES!

  19. The best ice cream and gelato in the area. You have to try this place if you like homemade ice cream and gourmet coffee.
