I have been to Simon Pearce many times for lunch and have never been disappointed. I am on a lowfat diet, and the chef and staff are always accommodating.
The restaurant is beautiful, I sat at the window overlooking the river and it was fantastic. Obviously an upscale place, so the menu is somewhat pricey. Good wine selection. Danger: After a drink or two, try not to wander into their adjoining store or you'll walk out with a $300 crystal water pitcher and $200 worth of handmade bowls. I'm just saying.
This place is the West Chester area's best kept secret…parking is ample…the food is great…the staff knows food and wine second to none. Try to find that view in downtown! We always feel special and appreciated when we dine there.
My family enjoys going to Simon Pearce. We always have a great dinner and the staff is very nice and accomodating. The retail store is large and easy to walk around in. I love their glass baubles and the pottery! I do have to say that we miss the "live" glass blowing at Simon Pearce. They should probably bring that back – you don't find art, skill and quality like you have at Simon Pearce just anywhere – especially in West Chester.
I have been to Simon Pearce recently for lunch and I ate the mouth watering Vt cheddar soup and the spinach and candied pecan salad. Though quite satisfied, I could not leave without finishing off my lunch with a server recommended Apple Tart Tatin. The dessert was so warm and comforting, I easily finished it. YUM,YUM,YUM!!!!!!!!
On my recent trip to Simon Pearce, I ordered a salmon entree and felt the portion was very small for the price. Usually I love the food there, but this trip was disappointing.
If you are at Longwood Gardens and there is a long line for lunch go to Simon Pierce, You won't be dissappointed. Food is as good or better and it also has a great view.
I visit Simon Pearce frequently as it is a meeting spot for my mother and I. We have always had wonderful meals and the service is outstanding. You cannot beat the wonderful view of the Brandywine River and we are always mezmerized by the glassblowing.
The breads are to die for and the coffee is excellent (not watered down). The cheddar soup is very good and quite honestly, i have never had a disappointing meal- yet!
Lovely atmosphere….perfect choice.
