The Brandywine Valley Wine Trail and their eight wonderful wineries are prepared to kick off their tenth year together with the annual March event, Barrels on the Brandywine. They want to see you there!
Each Saturday and Sunday in March, the Brandywine Valley Wine Trail will offer tastes of the newest vintages from participating wineries. Local winegrowers and vintners will open their cellars and tasting rooms for barrel tastings, cellar tours, music, food, and other special events. Wine Trail Passports are required to attend this event and visitors may purchase Passports ($25 each) at www.bvwinetrail.com or from any member winery. Passports provide a standard wine tasting at all eight member wineries and one 10th Anniversary Brandywine Valley Wine Trail commemorative wine trail logo glass.

Black Walnut Winery
3000 Lincoln Highway, Sadsburyville, PA
Saturdays & Sundays 12 p.m. – 6 p.m.
Enjoy barrel tastings of their 2011 Semillon and 2011 Merlot along with a regular wine tasting. Back by popular demand this year will be complimentary popcorn. All visitors will have one chance to spin the Black Walnut prize wheel and everyone wins a prize! Guests can also enter for a chance to win a private wine, cheese & chocolate pairing for 4 people! Activities will be available during March at the SADSBURYVILLE LOCATION ONLY. Barrels Passports will be honored for a regular wine tasting at their Phoenixville location.
Borderland Vineyard
332 Indiantown Road, Landenberg, PA
Saturdays & Sunday 12 p.m. – 5 p.m.
Stop in to taste their latest vintages and peruse items from Designs by Francine, taste sweets from Artisan Chocolates, sample Daddy’s Kitchen’s
cuisine, plus enjoy other goods from local vendors.
Chaddsford Winery
632 Baltimore Pike, Chadds Ford, PA
Saturdays: 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.; Sundays: 12 p.m. – 6 p.m.
Enjoy wine tasting in their cellar and tasting room during Barrels on the Brandywine. Take time to sip mulled wines at the outdoor snow bar, complete with two outdoor fire pits and a heated tent! In addition, each weekend of March brings fabulous food vendors to Chaddsford Winery such as Sum Pig, Purple Picnic People, Justine’s Cuisines, and Moonlight Catering. More details here.

Patone Cellars is offering tastes of their wines at a special location during Barrels on the Brandywine in 2013 at Paradocx Vineyard! That’s right! At one stop, guests can taste wines from two different Brandywine Valley Wine Trail wineries.
Penns Woods Winery
124 Beaver Valley Road, Chadds Ford, PA
Saturdays and Sundays, 11 a.m. – 5 p.m.
Guests who decide to barrel their way to Penns Woods Winery for the month-long event can enjoy a Passport Tasting, marked vintages on sale, new released wines, naturally infused olive oil and aged balsamic vinegar tastings, cheese pairings with Hillacres Pride, plus free wine carriers with any four bottle purchase. Also, for an additional $5 you may taste 3 of PWW’s most exclusive Red Reserve wines with your Passport Tasting. To keep things exciting outside of the samplings and sippings, there will also be a cork raffle where attendees can guess the amount of corks for a chance to win a bottle of wine and two passes to PWW’s 3rd Annual Wine and Jazz Festival, valued at over $150!
Twin Brook Winery
5697 Strasburg Road, Gap, PA
Saturdays, 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.; Sundays 12 p.m. – 5 p.m.
As is the long-standing tradition at Twin Brook Winery on March weekends, the Lancaster County winery will be serving Tim’s famous Gumbo, which pairs fabulously well with all their wines, plus it has just enough “kick” to warm you for your travels along the Brandywine Valley Wine Trail. Twin Brook Winery will be pulling samples from the barrels but, as a kicker, it’s always a surprise which barrel they pull from. You may also be one of the lucky couriers of secret messages to Black Walnut Winery.
