Are you ready for 17 local bands, endless craft booths, children’s activities, fun and games, plus music and food all day long?
If you attended West Chester Recreation‘s Turks Head Music Festival in previous years then you’ve already had a glimpse into one of the greatest music festivals in Chester County. Running for 30 years strong, this year’s performances and other elements are going to rise above your expectations and provide one awesome day of entertainment.
The 30th annual Turk’s Head Festival will kick off on Sunday, July 15th at Everhart Park in West Chester, and it’s FREE to attend. Festivities begin with two soul line dance sessions/lessons by Ken Jamz on the basketball court at Everhart Park from 10:00-10:20 am and 10:30–10:50 am. Following that, the full line up of festival events will kick into action.
Bands begin on the main stage at 11:00 in the morning and continue until 8:00 p.m. All are welcome for the full day of fun. Despite the heat, you and your guests will be able to stay cool with a new Service Mark Cool Zone! You can beat the heat in this enclosed tented area with 40,000 BTUs of cooling power to help guests stay comfortable at the festival. A small donation will be asked to help support the West Chester Parks and Recreation Department’s ”Send A Kid to Camp Fund.”
The entire concert is named after one of the first two clubs in West Chester that provided a stage for original music, The Turk’s Head Tavern. The festival has become a summer must for more than several generations. This year they will be celebrating their thirtieth anniversary with a combination of young, upcoming and familiar talent that you won’t want to miss. Mark your calendars and come out to be a part of the creative community.
