West Chester, Pa – January, 2008 - Gilmore’s, an eleven table BYOB in downtown West Chester has been the target of several anti foie gras protests. With the Philadelphia Animal Rights Meet Up Group announcing a “Day for Ducks” on Saturday February 2nd at 6pm, Peter Gilmore refuses to back down.

“I refuse to allow anyone to tell me what I can and cannot serve to my guests” says Gilmore. He adds, “We serve foie gras because our customers ask for it. I am in the customer service business; what the customer wants, the customer gets.” The protests began in November on Friday nights. Gilmore mentions that sales of foie gras have gone up since the protests began. In addition to the anti foie gras protestors there will also be pro foie gras demonstrators in attendance.
