West Chester + Starbucks = ?

There are times when it’s best to be an impartial, non-biased journalist.

This is not one of those times.

Starbucks will open its first shop in the heart of West Chester this coming fall. Their closest location until then is inconveniently on Route 3, about a five minute drive away. Many suburban dwellers will be excited for the opportunity to patronize the coffee company that is sometimes credited with the resurgence of America’s obsession with caffeine. . . but some will be very, very disappointed. Last year, in celebration of Cinco de Mayo, I hosted a fiesta at my apartment. The only catch was that I had plans on the Cinco of May so I had a Cuatro de Mayo party instead. In keeping with tradition I’ve decided to host another Mexican par-tay but I’m inviting the town. I have a crush on peanut butter eggs. Any brand, any size, any type. I love em. It is the best when, in the beginning of March prime real estate by the cash registers of gas stations and grocery stores fill up with various egg shaped bits of sweetness filled with coconut, vanilla cream and peanut butter.
